The second day (November 4) of the largest Fashion Week in Latin America saw Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen back in her catwalk roots as the face of Colcci’s 2015 winter collection.
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel opened the show in Sao Paulo, steaming down the catwalk with her signature power walk in a neutral black and brown mod-style mini dress with 60s style snake-skin knee-high boots.
Later in the show, Bundchen turned in the feminine cuts and donned a baggy, ripped double-denim number.
Not only was the patriotic crowd pleased to welcome back a model whose career origins grew with those of the Fashion Week itself, but ablaze with the contagious energy of the world’s highest paid model of the last eight years.
“When she comes out everyone goes crazy because she has an incredible energy and she passes this energy on to everyone else. And her relationship with the 20 years of Fashion Week, they grew together… We can see it in her face, in her work, in the growth of Fashion Week, it is very gratifying to be here participating in this event,” fashion blogger Marcela Borges told Reuters TV after the show.
“The show was marvellous, and seeing Gisele there fills me with even more pride for the fact that she is Brazilian. She has exactly that, the beauty of the Brazilian woman. It makes me very proud to see her return to Brazil, and it is a great pleasure,” added Human Resources director, Dina Oliveira.
The 34-year old mother of two and wife of NFL superstar Tom Brady, is also the newest face of Colcci’s Power Skinny Jeans campaign.
Other power houses of global fashion to grace the catwalk in Sao Paulo this week include Versace, which will launch a new collection for Brazilian department store Riachuelo, and daughter of Beatles legend, Stella McCartney, who is to unveil a line created for popular clothing store C&A.
